Charles S. Luck, IV
Founder, Board of Directors
As President and CEO of Luck Companies, Charlie Luck is the third-generation Luck family member to lead the privately held and family-owned organization founded in 1923. Charlie collaborates with the chief officers to develop the people, organization, strategy, and future direction for the company in alignment with the company’s mission of “igniting human potential through Values Based Leadership and positively impacting the lives of others around the world.” Charlie is currently serving as Immediate Past Chairman of the National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association.
Wanda Ortwine
Treasurer, Board of Directors
Wanda’s passion for developing values based leaders within family systems has sustained her through her role as Chief Family Officer of Luck Companies and with the transformation of other multi-generational families and family-owned businesses. Through this work, she helps each generation embrace and value their heritage while pursuing their own unique self and legacy through understanding their personal values, beliefs, skills, and perspectives. With deep trust, communication, and love as the foundation of developing values based families, Wanda customizes her presentations for conferences, seminars, and family and business meetings.
Roy Goodman
Secretary, Board of Directors
As Chief Financial Officer for Luck Companies, Roy focuses on leading the organization’s finance and information technology departments and identifying and accomplishing financial and non-financial goals for the corporation. In addition, as a member of the Strategic Leadership Team, Roy is active in supporting long-term growth initiatives, capital allocation processes, and the Values Based Leadership mission of the company.
Dr. Thomas Epperson

Dr. Tom Epperson is the Vice President of Culture at Luck Companies and one of the founders of InnerWill Leadership Institute, Luck Companies’ nonprofit that teaches leaders how to build Values-Based Organizations that ignite human potential. With a doctorate in leadership from The George Washington University and over twenty five years of experience as a leadership coach, facilitator, and speaker, Dr. Epperson has helped transform hundreds of organizations.

Greg McCann
Board of Directors
As a consultant, coach, presenter, author and professor, Greg McCann has worked to develop leaders in family enterprises, including family offices. The emphasis of his work is on developing leaders to have increased capacity, greater agility, and stronger values-alignment, which are all necessary to lead in the complexity of today’s world. His passion for the work combines a need for intimacy with the client coupled with the need for innovation in design and delivery. This is evidenced by Greg’s leading the efforts at Stetson University to both create the nation’s first major in family enterprise and redesign the university’s EMBA around leadership, and in his consulting to reframe succession towards a greater leadership focus.
Christopher Yates

Chris Yates serves as the Chief Talent Office for Ford Motor Company, and has led Values Based Leadership efforts in several organizations, including Caterpillar and Microsoft. His diverse range of experience also includes founding Ethical Organizational Design, a consulting organization in the UK that promotes ethical values in business and beyond. Chris has co-authored two books, “Rewire: A Radical Approach to Tackling Diversity and Difference”, and “Share: How Organizations Can Thrive in an Age of Networked Knowledge, Power and Relationships”.
Jack Mitchell

Jack Mitchell is Chairman of Mitchell Stores (Mitchells/Richards/ Wilkes/Marios), a three-generation family business that operates men’s and women’s specialty stores in Connecticut, New York, California, Washington and Oregon. Under Jack’s leadership, the Michell Stores have become well known for employee engagement and longevity, and for providing exceptional customer service and high-quality merchandise. In 2003, Jack launched a second career as an author and speaker. He has keynoted events for Morgan Stanley, Conde Nast, Merrill Lynch, Nike, Starbucks, and Harvard University (to name a few), where he engages audiences with Hug Your Customers/ Hug Your People/Selling the Hug Your Customers Way presentations. Jack has appeared on The NBC Today Show, and Kudlow & Cramer TV show as well as numerous radio interviews and articles. In April 2005, INC Magazine listed Jack as one of the “26 Entrepreneurs We Love”. Jack has been honored with Community Leadership Awards from the Anti-Defamation league, The Menswear Division of UJA-Federation of New York, and Sacred Heart University. He is on the Yale Cancer Board and Greenwich Hospital Board of Trustees. Jack has a BA from Wesleyan University and an MA at the University of California-Berkeley in Chinese History. He has been happily married for over 50 years and has four sons and seven grandchildren.
Sylvester Taylor

Before entering private consulting, Sylvester Taylor was Senior Manager, Intellectual Property Development at the Center for Creative Leadership where he led and facilitated teams responsible for new product development. In addition, he trained professionals on the use of CCL 360 assessments, facilitated feedback, and coaching to groups and individuals at the highest leadership levels, and conducted research and published about leadership, and leadership development.
Sylvester has extensive experience designing and implementing 360-degree feedback projects, facilitating feedback sessions for hundreds of successful executives, and helping organizations gain value by leveraging their talent management strategies and competency model initiatives. Throughout his more than thirty years in human resources, he has written, edited, and published numerous articles in scholarly and professional journals on issues related to creativity, leadership development, psychological measurement, and organizational effectiveness.
An article co-authored by Sylvester won the Scientific Contributions Award given by the Human Resources Division of the Academy of Management. Prior to coming to the Center in 1989, Sylvester held positions in administration and as an Instructor at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill teaching courses in Psychology and Statistics. Sylvester holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics and Industrial Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He completed extensive graduate coursework (ABD) in the doctoral program in Social Psychology at UNC-CH including advanced courses in psychometrics, psychology, and adult education.

Guy Clumpner is the President of Holt Development Services Inc. (HDSI). For over two decades, HDSI has helped client- partners integrate and customize Holt’s Values Based Leadership model within high performing organizations throughout North America. HDSI’s many clients include Spurs Sports & Entertainment, the parent company of the five time NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs. As a student and teacher of leadership, Guy finds fulfillment in consulting, teaching, executive coaching and mentoring in the private, public and non-profit sectors
